Dear Cub

My darling Cub,

Time is moving so quickly now.

I didn’t think I would write this letter to you just yet, but I have this feeling that you are going to be here sooner than we think. So I am writing to you now because I need and want you to know how I am feeling now.

I know that once I finish this letter, you will be over due by 10 days…

But that will be OK, I’ve waited so long for you already, just knowing you will be here eventually is keeping me going.

I finished work last week and this week has been all about sorting out the little bits I needed to get done before you arrived. Cub, they call this nesting.

You gave me a couple of panics with some pains on Wednesday night, but I think You are just letting me know that you are excited to be here soon.

I am so, so excited for you to be here. Your Daddy is very excited too. I don’t think he realises how much he loves you already, but I can see it Cub. His eyes say it all, as much as he is apprehensive about your arrival, he is equally just wanting you here.

I’ve put a sweepstake up for people to guess your Sex, weight and the date you will arrive, its proved very popular.

Your nursery is ready, we are stocked up with food.

Bags are packed, clothes washed.

People have been told what to do when that time comes.

Were all waiting for you Cub.

In safe hands

These hands will guide you through life

I hope your journey to us is a good, safe one. Don’t worry about me, my pain will go when I see you. Just get to us well.

The next time we see you, you’ll be in our arms.

And then we can start our lives together.

Be safe my Cub, were so close now.

All my love, forever,

Mama x

Limitless undying love which
shines around me like a million suns
It calls me on and on across the universe

  1. This is such a lovely post. I have a Dear Squigler letter that I wrote before Piran was born and soon I will write my Dear Thumper letter. It is so exciting.

Such a beautiful letter to your little Cub. Reading your letter has brought back all the anticipation, excitement & worry I felt before Lia’s arrival. I wrote an entry in her journal then for her to read when she’s older too 🙂
